Social Impact

Transforming lives through the power of the cannabis plant.

Education

The cannabis plant is quickly becoming widely acknowledged and used medicinally by all ages and recreationally for adults.  As legalization gains momentum and the outdated negative stigma surrounding cannabis begins to diminish, new research and information are being published at a breakneck pace.  With this rapid influx of information, The Botanist is committed to educating local communities about pertinent legislation, effective medical usage, responsible consumption, and ongoing new information regarding the benefits and intricacies of cannabis. The Botanist hosts, leads, sponsors, and participates in weekly Cannabis Education programs intended to increase understanding and build the knowledge base of patients, caregivers, customers, dispensaries, and our community.

Social Equity

The Botanist team recognizes the crucial role we must play to help support underserved communities.   We are working to ensure that all sectors of our community benefit from our success. The Botanist provides 100% living wage jobs for disproportionately impacted individuals and we are working to hire employees from disproportionately impacted areas. We contract many of our materials and services from minority and social equity businesses.  We donate to credible community organizations working and assisting in DIAs.

The Botanist empowers its team.  We are building a training and career development program for our employees to help increase workforce skills and provide additional career opportunities.

Keeping it Local

Sustainability is a vital part of our core values.  We have a responsibility to reduce environmental impact whenever we can. We understand that locally sourced goods, labor, and services benefit the community by reducing transportation pollution, funneling more funds into the local economy, and increasing the employment rate by utilizing local labor resources.  We partner with local businesses to incorporate them into our supply chain. Our intentional network sourcing through local vendors is an effort to uplift our community and keep as much of our operating spend in the area when possible.

We firmly believe in buying local and hiring local to strengthen our communities.
